Everyone here loves their snakes, but nothing can quite compare with the bond between a person and a dog.
We had a 14 year old poodle pass this summer. It's tough, but when older animals start to decline, you have to remind yourself that they are dying of old age because you gave them a good life for a very long time.
I'll keep you and your dog in my thoughts.

Awww, thank you guys. He's been a great dog. Always up for anything the boys wanted to do. The kiddo on the beach is in his second year of college and the kiddo in the creek is a senior in high school. It seems like Chance has always been a part of their childhood.

Very nice. What's the common name for that?

re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

Haha yeah there is almost no info out there on them. Lacroix Kukri Snake is the common name as Steve posted.

They're rear-fanged and have enlarged curved rear teeth that work like daggers (hence the Kukri name). They tend to eat mainly eggs in the wild (both bird and reptile) but also some small reptiles & rodents. They use their teeth to slice/break open the eggs and drink the contents. It's said that even very small ones will slice you open if you get bitten, they slash at you with the teeth instead of just clamping down like most other snakes. So they should be a lot of fun
