    Darn, sucks when you have to do that with such a good looking snake. Been there, done that. Had to release the only intense blue northwestern I ever found and that was a lot of years, and a lot of snakes before I found it. He was a lifer but wouldn't eat and was thin and weak.

    Not true, it's just that odds of finding one that blue are astronomical. Green is also extremely rare.
