    Impacted!

    guys im pretty sure my ribbon snake is impacted i have a peice of granite for him to eat on and he usaly eats there but he hasnt pooped in 3-4 days and he barely touched is food. he has aways scarfed it down. and he hasnt really moved at all
    hes is on carpet and ive tryed to work some of the feces out with aa massage but nothings really happened
    anything u can tell me about this will help

    do you see a lump near his tail? If he is impacted he will have a distinct lump and swelling. It's unmistakable and it feels like a marble inside the snake. If you don't have any of that going on, I would stop worrying and leave him alone as massaging poop out of a snake that doesn't have to poop is probably very stressful on the snake. They don't necessarily poop every 3 or 4 days.

    i think from what uve described its impaction
    he ussauly poops 1-2 a day i feed him light meals every few days
    and he is fine with handling so what else can i do for him?

    post some pictures of it. I need to see it so that I can tell you whether or not it's impaction... give him a warm soak and don't handle him for any reason other than moving him at this point. Also, don't feed him anything for a while until we figure out what's wrong. I hope it's not impaction but pictures will tell!

    Sometimes a warm bath will stimulate a bowel movement.
    Just an idea.

    i just gave him a bath and realeased some urates and poop and it had 2 pieces of aspen but thats it
    i just saw him drinking so i think hes better
    and i cant post pictures right now but either late tonight or early tommorrow morning
