Wow! We have some talented artists here! Loved them all. Laura, though, omg... the embrace shown from behind really touches me. Pretty sure you could make a living drawing if you wanted to? I'm way impressed with all of you!

Thanks guys the embrace is actually an illustration of a friends poem.
I wish I had time to draw more unfortunatelly I work fulltime and have very random hours so I can't really commit to anything.

Lol I'm glad you like the corpse bride, definately not my strongest piece :P but it was fun all the same

an i glad i asked members to show their stuff they were fantastic, i can not tell you just how envious i am, as a kid i tried and tried to draw, i tried things like birds of prey, sharks, big cats, and other animals in the hope that repetition would improve my results but it was not to be, a indication of just how bad i am is that, Steve beat me in the draw a straight line contest

I'd have to disagree with you there, drawing the same sort of things over and over does massively improve your work. Besides, absolutely everyone can draw! You just have to discover your particular style May not be life, could be abstract/cubism if you can master the ruler

My boyfriend is like that... Kind of. He wants so badly to draw like a professional, but he wont bother even trying to put any time into it. When he applies himself, he does an amazing job, even better than I can do, but he doesn't believe it because I'm stronger in some areas than he is. He has all these ideas in his head, but he cant get them onto the paper or pc. (whichever he tries to draw on) He has a lot of potential.... If only he'd try the repetition

I agree everyone can draw, there are many techniques that can be learned like chiaroscuro and linear 3 point perspective, and you don't have to be "gifted" to enjoy creating art, some of the greatest artist's aren't/weren't the most talented, but creative and expressive of something people can relate to. I encourage anyone to experiment with art and take it to any level or format, creative outlet is good for the soul.
FYI a lot of you may not realize this but my first college degree was a Bachelor of Fine Arts with my emphisis in drawing, painting, and printmaking. I worked at an art gallery for several years and sold my paintings there and did work in the frame shop. Of course then I went back to school and received a degree for Biotechnology and then Biochemistry, did human genetic and biochemical research for a couple years, and have now worked in molecular biology department in public health for the past 11 yrs. and recently became ASCP Molecular Biology certified.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.
