    Re: Ribbon on the Ranch

Today Shyblue was out to me looking for some food. After a couple pieces of Salmon I scented a couple night crawlers. She took them right down. I've tried worms alone but she never showed and interest. Scenting with some fish did the trick.
Looks like her diet has expanded by one.

    Night crawlers
    She should do well.

Nope. Just hoping to get her on larger(fuzzy) mice at some point.

She's becoming very bold and I like it.

    Re: Ribbon on the Ranch

Shyblue is in her first opaque phase(shedding) since arriving at the Ranch.
Looks like the food is agreeing with her. I'll try to get a before and after photo.
She's still jumpy and from what I understated about Ribbons she may never lose that attribute.
All-in-all I think ribbons are under rated in the tham. world.
Maybe this jumpiness and the fact they are a more specialized eater has more to do with it.
I think they are a wonderful garter snake.

They are typically quite jumpy, but they can calm down..

Kleo isn't very jumpy - she reacts only when touched or when she sees hand above her (not running, just paying attention or twitch a little when touched). She doesn't move much either. She finds her spot and is sitting there until it's time to change. So: under the root, on the root, next to water dish hoping to be fed. Izy is way more jumpy and active than Kleo. Maybe because Izy is few month old.
