Well, do garter males like to have a pause in eating? And not connected with brumation?

If they are hungry they will want to eat. I have a few garters that will take a break but only when they want to.
Summer seems to be the most often time for a food break.
Then I have some that are random and you can't count on any kind of a schedule.

So, house snakes should be able not to eat more than 3 months because of their metabolism. Feels good, man.

3 months is a long time in the Summer months. That's not usual.
    In my opinion.

Snakey ate a 5 inch worm in 3 seconds, counting swallowing. We had never seen him do that! He slurped it in like it was spaghetti. He usually takes his sweet time eating
