    Northwesterns stay around 2 ft or less. I think radix and marcianus are a couple of the largest, the giant garter snake (thamnophis gigas) is the biggest of them all. I think they're around 5 ft long.

    Yes Chantel, but I'm wondering if a male marcianus would be able to eat a hopper or adult mouse. It's obvious that females can do it, but males?

    I don't know how big males get, I know for a fact my male northwestern can barely down a fuzzy... And all snakes are different. It would depend on the size

    Maybe. Males are long and thin, so it wouldn't surprise me if he'd have difficulty. You have to keep in mind, though, what I only have a yearling male concinnus, an adult male northwestern (1 ft) and a baby male northwestern.

    Males in general don't get big. But they're big enough.
