    hi new here need help id snake

    i was giving a snake by a friend for my son. i ask my friend what kind of snake it was he himself didnt know so now im here seeking some help.so here i am with a snake which i dont mind taking care for my son i been doing some research i think is a ribbon snake? thank you for any help

    Welcome to the forums!
    It's a Dekay snake as stefan said (storeria dekayi) very easy snakes to care for they feed mostly on worms.

    Yup an awesome Dekay Brown. Love those. They love slugs as well as worms and stuff...

    Beautiful Dekayi! They love slugs and worms but slugs are their favorites! We have had one now for 2 years. They have the cutest faces! Never bite or musk.

    I've never seen one with quite that coloring, unless it's being distorted in the photo.

    I think if the snake is for your son, then let this one go and get a garter. This isn't a very good beginner snake. They like to be cool. Very cool most of the time. Also, being slug/snail specialists, finding food for them can be tough to do year 'round.
