Update on my babies.

I posted about my baby garters doing strange things with their tongues after they ate. I had one that died and all the rest are doing fine. I have not fed them since last weekend. If it was a deficiency of some kind wouldn't they still be showing signs of them being sick? They are acting like they are hungry. I will give them nightcrawlers with some multivitamin sprinkled on. They are all doing great and I'm just wondering if there was something else that could have been wrong. I'm not a vet but if it was a deficiency they should be acting sick and a few more should have died right? Anyway I will post pics of my collection in a few days. I also have a few radixes that are atleast a year old.

Personally I don't think it's a deficiency issue. I think your snakes were exposed to something hazardous in a small enough amount that luckily, it didn't kill them all. I would avoid your previous source of fish and go for a different one, you can still use fish, just not from the same source.

My snakes "do strange things with their tongue" after eating something that had dirt on it, such as a worm, or a particle of substrate, or other material that gets in their mouths. They use their tongues to try and push out the foreign material. Sometimes they'll do it even though there's no sign of a foreign object.

the OP's previous thread explains that his snakes were acting very odd with their tongues hanging out... something was wrong
