    Memorial Day Radix

Went on a Memorial Day Field Trip to some of my usual haunts here on the Southside of Des Moines. Didn't find much. Came across a beautiful red sided with bluish lateral and dorsal lines but it was DOR (dead on road). I came to one spot where I have a piece of plywood I always check along a fence row and there were three large radix underneath. I went for the largest of the three and ended up with the smallest. I believe they were all gravid females. I will upload pics to my blog in a little bit. The one I photographed was ready to shed. Her eyes were grey. Iowa Reptiles

Okay...I have got a lot to learn. This is a red sided I have in the photo. I am learning. Please be patient. I got a good buddy who is helping me learn to get these snakes properly identified.

Set him straight Steve Either that, or buy him a good field guide.
