    Hello.

Hi, my name is Bart, I come from PL and I own T. sauritus for ten days. It's my first snake and reptile.

My snake is probably female; the guy who sold me her told me she was probably a male, but he was wrong most of the time, so I guess he was wrong also in this matter. She's like 45-50 cm long. Before I recieved her, she didn't eat for two weeks and was thin as lace. She was caught from the wild (which I didn't know, until I finalized the deal).

Anyway, Kleopatra (that's her name) wasn't eating for three days, but after that she ate three swordtails and one female guppie alive. She refused to eat frozen fish (European smelts), but after few more feedings with live stock and few more days, she started to eat them, not only from the water dish, but even from trunk and pair of tweezers. Until yesterday, she scored five of them. Yay, great success - if I'm correct, she never ate dead fish before. Today she refused food, but I guess it's because she's full and, of course, little pissed at me, because I was handling her for a moment. Now she's more thick, probably because I'm feeding her on regular basis - hoping she wouldn't get too fat.
She doesn't eat earthworms - once she ALMOST ate one (she mistaken it with fish floating nerby), but after the worm started to crawl and released mucus, she let it go. Oh well, we'll try another time. Then she had to dry her face on substratum and root; it was so cute, lol!

She isn't jumpy, and almost doesn't care of me, when I'm around. And she doesn't try to escape either. She doesn't like to be handled much though, but I guess I have a luck anyway, because I heard that eastern ribbons are overall timid snakes. When handled, she calms down after few moments, she never bites nor musks. That's another proof, she's female I think, because males are supposed to be more shy and aggressive. And I was checking her tail and it seems she's a girl indeed, but I can be horribly wrong.

Ok, now some pics. They are quite big, so please click on link below.

    Re: Hello.

Nice to have you and Kleo on the forum.
Here's a link that might help with the sexing.
You could also post an under tail photo and we'll try to help you out.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

Steve, I saw this thread already and sexed Kleo using its contens. Not sure if ribbons and garters have same sex indicators though.
I will make a photo of her, just not now - she gets angry at me when I handle her and sits half a day in her hideout to punish me for my hideous crime against her - and I'm plannig feeding today.

Lol, I've even bought a freezer to keep her food in it! Mine broke like 2 years ago and I discovered, that I didn't actually need it. :P but for Kleo, lol, half of the kingdom I shall sacrifice!
