    Strangulated tail

Check out this little radixes tail. She was just born moments ago.
I had to pull the umbilical cord off this area as it was strangulating the tail.
I hope everything will return to normal. I've never seen a cord do that before. It must have been tight for awhile.

Poor little thing. Such a struggle so early on. Hoping for the best.

    Hopefully it grows out.

I'd be extra diligent on checking that area everytime post-shed too. A friend had a baby with a similar area and the shed would tend to stay there, compounding the problem. It was further down though near the end of the tail though but a couple of missed stuck sheds saw the end of the tail drop off from that point on.

I've seen a few in the wild with a similar thing on their body too though, I imagine it's likely the same cause. At any rate it didn't seem to slow those ones down.

Things are looking up for this little scrub.
I don't think there will be any functional problems, maybe just a cosmetic one.
Who knows, maybe a few sheds from now and it will all look normal.

Nice it looks way better already, great to see. I bet that will be gone in a few sheds.
