Too be het, or not to be Het. That is the question.

    Here's my problem.
I never saw the albino male T.radix lockup with Onespot. He has been the only male in there in the last 6 months. There was a different male in there 9 months ago.
Considering they can store sperm for longer that 6 months I am feeling uncomfortable marking these babies as Het. Iowa albinos.
What are your thoughts on this situation?

You never saw a lockup but did you see courting behavior when the albino was in there? Was there any courting behavior with the other male 9 months ago? Did she become gravid back then?

I still think the chances aren't very good that the father of this litter is from the first male. Of course, there's always a chance that perhaps a few of them were sired by the first male but I would have doubts that they all are if you saw courting from the albino male.

I saw a lot of serious courting for a lot of days with Miss Piggy and Flicker. I also didn't see a lock up but I am seeing some seriously convincing signs that she is gravid. With northwesterns there's a pretty good chance that not all the babies will be his, but certainly the majority of them should be.

If I was buying them, and Steve told me the situation, I think I would accept them as hets. The odds seem to favor that.

I would rule them as possible hets and explain the situations to the buyers.

Never saw a lock-up with either male. Never saw courting behavior either. She started putting on weight after the albino male was introduced.

I told them not to lockup without me present. They appearently did listen.

I assume you meant "didn't" listen. Sounds like a pretty safe bet they are hets.
