    Re: Checkard Garter Care

Garters normally eat worms, pinky mice or fish. You could try guppies or earthworms/nightcrawlers, but stay away from red wigglers. They're often sold as composting worms. They have red and white bands on their body. They're also toxic to garter snakes.

If you post a clear picture of the underside it's tail, we can probably sex it for you.

    Re: Checkard Garter Care

WELCOME IM ROBERT!!!!! checkards get larger than most other captive garter snakes but smae diet is approved...certain fish, pinkys/fuzzy/mouse parts, and worms NOT RED WRIGGLERS!!!!!! post a pic of tail and well try to sex it...as for naming your new friend you can do it yourself or start a thread or post(best option is to post in this thread) on this one that you want some name suggestions and well fight to the virtual death for it (metaphorically speaking) we can also come up with unisexual names (the names work either way)
once again welcome! if you need any help dont hesitate to ask anyone on this site(hopefully theyre active(often on the site))

It's not bisexual names, Robert. Its unisex names. Bisexual is something completely different.
