Improves with age - "Color up" photos

Hey guys I don't know if everybody knows it or not but Don has been breeding nebraska and iowa albino radixes with the "christmas" albino genes incorporated into them. This has resulted in some of the albinos turning orange over time. Well, Amy is proving to not be your average typical Iowa. He is coloring up rather than "coloring down" and turning white like most Iowas. He shed recently and now has even more orange on his sides. The new little nebraska I got from him is also showing signs of turning orange. But anyway, I thought I'd show some photos showing how Amy is coloring up.

Amy a while back looked like a typical Iowa and I thought he would "whiten" over time like most Iowas:



That's not what's happening. He's getting very colorful. More orange comes in with each shed. It's hard to catch in a pic but I think I managed OK here:





Feel free to ad your photos showing how your snakes changed over time. Flames, albinos, whatever. I figured by the time he was a year old he would stop coloring up and just be a typical Iowa. Well, he's still coloring up and looking more and more like a Christmas albino! Pretty!

Now feel free to ad your own photos of whatever snakes you have that colored up over time. Let's see how they progressed.

The little Nebraska has the same father as Amy and as small as she is, she's showing a lot more orange than Amy did at this age. I have high hopes for this little girl. I'll bet she'll color up real nice.

Thanks. I was looking at the WC male Iowa that Steve has , you know, the one that's been getting busy lately. He has the same orange markings on his side too. I'm really hoping that nebraska turns out like that other flaming orange one I saw somewhere. Actually, I think that was Don's and that's where I got this nebraska.

Very, very interesting. Now he looks just like a lot of the snakes I find in the area of Oregon where the anery's are found. Still, I find babies of that color too. Interesting how he started out normal looking. I still think he's just basically a faded normal. Here's one that I call hypoerythristic and he represents some snakes I find that look like this even as babies:




He mated with one of my normal females last week so it will be interesting to see if there's any anomalies in the offspring.

I would still like to see someone post progressive photos of their flames coloring up, or any dramatic color changes.

Wow! Now that's what I'm talking about. I do realize that you just can't predict how much they will color up but judging from this pic:



And then, looking at this girl, it looks very promising!
