Spammers are swarming today. More have been intercepted today, than in the past month.

Just banned the 15th since this started, I think.

Same thing just happened over at Jason's other forum Stefan.

For whatever reason half of them were on the same thread.

Nothing like having the "moderate posts/threads" full of worthless junk.

The morons are even uploading avatars and inserting signatures.

I just banned two before they finished posting the first post.

I'm curious, what are they doing to get banned? Do you see anything in their posts to indicate why they would target the two sites? I mean, why a critter site? Especially one that must approve first posts.

Judging by what I see Richard, The first indicator is merchandise, pharmaceuticals or porn hot linked in the users signature.

Some are right in your face, others try and hide it. (look at the signature, this person has only one intention, and contributing to the forum is NOT it.)

There is also a database of "hot" IP addresses and screen names, If one person registers on 20 unrelated forums in a single day, it usually means they are posting spam, and it gets flagged.
