    Re: Hello

Ok i've taken some pictures. With the flash his stripe looks more yellowy green but under the UV strip it looks more pale sky blue.

    Then theres Percy (Persius)

    and Romi (Andromeda)

I dont have any pictures of the others yet but will get some and share them.

Take care and have a great New Year folks.
    Mark.

Oh yes Greg I tried what you said about leaving my hand in the viv with him and it seems to be working a treat. I've also put a lot more 'toys' in with him. The viv now looks like a junk yard but he has lots of places to hide and climb and seems much happier wandering round and exploring.

    Re: Hello

Glad he's starting to warm to you. Nice collection of snakes there. A very striking concinnus. It looks like he's another one with an 'x' .
I think the blue you're seeing is definitely down to the UV light.

@ Richard - an interesting thing to consider. I dissected a concinnus a couple of years back in order to ascertain cause of death. Her stripe was the same limegreen as Xerxes' (they were siblings). I kept the skin - without the pink flesh underneath the dorsal stripe is blue . The UV bulb seems to be bringing this out on this individual.
Keeping - 'Florida blue' sirtalis, concinnus, infernalis, parietalis, radix, marcianus and ocellatus.

Cool. Thanks for posting the pics. That's the stripe color I described as "off-white, or maybe slightly greenish". When you said "blue" I was picturing something like this:

But anyway, I can see what you mean. Sometimes I could swear that my anerys are green, sometimes I see blue, depending on the lighting.

    Re: Hello

I'm the same way with Ember. Usually he looks lime green, but I let him come outside with me on a warm day and his reddish colour went to orange and he had blue lips with a blue stripe. He's such a pretty boy.

OK, next time I wan't to show example of color, I'll just cut out a tiny section. Wouldn't want you to ruin your keyboard by drooling on it.

Would it help if I did it like this next time?
