Yeah, I'm thinking about getting an melenistic, or anerythristic, eastern/red-sided garter.
I kinda want to make a good choice of variety since It's probaly the only other snake my parents will allow me to get for awile. (not that I could afford housing for a third. I spent most of my money on the one I have.)

Keep an eye on you local Craiglist. I've been able to pick up some real bargains.

too bad none of you can ship to great white north... not easily anyway... ohh well looks like a trip to my suthern neighbors is in need.

I did this year. Unfortunately, none of the babies made it. An adult anery male concinnus was the only one that made it to it's Canadian destination alive and in good health. I was very disappointed. I'll likely try again next year. One or two import shipments going to Canada each summer. This time I'll plan better so they don't have to sit for 3 weeks at the importers in Daytona Beach FL. They don't have much experience with keeping garters, let alone month old babies.
