Threatened by new Eastern
Two weeks ago I found what I've been told is an Eastern Garter, who I named Maslow, as some of you may already have read about... At first, he was just a tad weary of me, but nothing major, but now that that he has a roommate, Freud, a Butler Garter, he has become EXTREMELY skittish. It is to the point where I'm scared of him and he is deathly afraid of me... Freud is very social and loves playing with me and coming out of the cage but Maslow wants nothing to do with me and its kind of upsetting.. How do I handle this??

Split them up.
It seems apparent that the cohabitation is stressful.

I agree with Wayne.
Something is wrong and this may be the solution.

Freud is welcome to come to the T.radix Ranch for some conditioning.
It's a very intense program. I'll have him back to you in about........ 5 years.

yeah - doesn't sound like they're working out together
perhaps you could try to rename Freud - something like Satir, Minuchin, Napier, or Whitaker - and see whether that helps any, but I think separating them will work better
