Smarty Snakes

Fridays and Saturdays are a big feed day here on the Ranch. Last night it was babies and Juv.
Today it's adults. I took out a couple hundred mice and thawed them. I knew I was in trouble as I started to feed these bigger garters. At least 50% turned down the meal. Then it hit me. Fall came in on Thursday and today it's a cold rainy, windy day. I've got the north window open in the snake room to let some fresh air in.
These guys are preparing for Winter and it's that slow time of the year for feeding. Luckily have have other snakes and turtles that won't mind some extra food.
Note to self thaw out less food
How many of you out there are seeing a slow down in activity and eating with your snakes?

Definitely, Runt and Tiny aren't eating right now, Snakey and Mama both refuse food every now and then. The concinnus however and little pigs

My smallest Checkered has stopped eating. I generally keep the snake room pretty warm (it also houses my orchid collection), he might just be preparing to shed though. I'll keep offering it just in case he's hungry, but scale it back. The two others are eating like horses, currently draped on grapewood like sleepy tube-socks.

My 2010 babies are chomping down like little pigs, the adults seem less interested in eating as much as often.

Noodle still begs for food every time I see him but I've been seeing him a lot less lately. He seems to prefer his hide to cruising his tank the last week or so.

Mine slowed down when the heat wave broke 3 or so weeks ago, but the temperatures have returned to being fairly mild even though not hot, and their feeding has resumed to normal...for the most part. I usually feed them twice a week, but they're only wanting to eat once a week now, yet they seem absolutely starving right before that one time a week.

most of my adults have stopped feeding along with a bunch of babies and yearlings. it's a little earlier than normal for mine, but not a problem.

Most of mine are still munching on. It's usually mid October when I start to see a significant drop in appetite (this doesn't apply to my floridians which I don't brumate - ie. my florida blue or my everglades ratsnakes). They don't seem to want too either-especially the everglades which seem to prefer to aestivate in the summer.

Abby is still eating like a pig, Ziva, my little albino checkered is off her food, but I think she might be getting ready to shed. (Her eyes were unusually pale yesterday- is that what an albino looks like in opaque phase?)
