    Re: Very wierd Question

every one has there own way to handle a passing , what ever is good for you .. I think it is kinda harsh just to put them in the trash, after all they brought us so much pleasure. a nice hole in the woods seems a very fitting spot to have a peaceful rest..

    Re: Very wierd Question

About 30 years ago I had an aquarium and all the fish died except for one albino cat. It lived for another 5 years. When it died I dried it and put it in a little box lined with cotton. It’s still around here someplace………… That's not such a weird question, some of the answers, well.......... maybe .

    Re: Very wierd Question

Thought we could revisit this thread.
I bury my animal friends in my yard. If it is impossible to bury (like winter) I have had a frozen snake in my freezer for awhile. (Kinda worried about it when I went into labor this spring and had someone watching my kids for a day or so, found out they went into the freezer to make orange juice. Wonder if they saw my snake)

I have mine in the freezer during Winter and have a Service in the Spring for them.
I have a separate refridge/freezer for all my snake stuff(kid's orders)

    Re: Very wierd Question

I have the last two carcasses in the freezer. One's been there since December 2008. A third snake was sent for a necropsy and was presumably cremated.

edit: I just checked. Both putting it in the bin and burying it in the back yard is prohibited without special permission. I bet if I cooked it first, I'd be allowed to put it the bin.

We have a city law that prohibits burying animals in yards. It's one of those never enforced laws.

    Re: Very wierd Question

I'm lucky enough to own 5 acres of woods and farmland. All my animals are buried somewhere on the property. I have a wooded hilltop that we use as a campsite so my Borzoi dog and my cremated whippet are up there together. We've lost 3 horse since we moved here, 2 from old age and 1 from a horrible accident and they're buried in the paddock. ( At least you won't have to call the neighbor with the backhoe for the snake! )

When I die, I want to be cremated so that I can be sprinkled on the property I love with the animals I shared my life with. ( I wouldn't mind being buried here but you can't do that anymore! I really have a problem with being buried next to a bunch of strangers! )

    I bury mine.

Learned not to trust the kids to do it, they put them so shallow that I find it dug up and gone the next day.
