    My first garters.

Got my first garters today, a pair of flame easterns from garterchick. They're absolutely adorable!

I wasn't prepared for how tiny they are, or how fearless they are. As soon as I opened the box, one of them made a break for it and hid under my keyboard. I lifted up the keyboard and it crawled right into my hand! They seem perfectly content to explore the "warm squishy tree" if picked up.

Here are some pics. I apologize for the quality, I've only got a camera phone.

I can already tell they're different from every other snake I've owned. They seem genuinely curious, about everything. When I sit down next to them, they come out to see what I'm doing.

Awesome. Regardless of how a garter snake looks, that's the best part along with watching them grow and getting to know them as individuals. ^^^

They are "Sunset" (named by my wife, because his red fades to yellow on his belly), and "Fire" because he's very high red, even on his belly.
