LOL. People never cease to amaze me. Clearly, the snake has just eaten. Clearly, the snake overdid it. If a snake somehow DID miraculously spawn a lizard arm, I don't think it would be coming out of it's stomach, that's the wrong place for an arm anyways!

It's not really a miracle if a snake spawns a lizard arm (or rather, hind legs), it's just an atavism, but that doesn't seem to be a case here.

The leg is definitely coming out of the stomach. I'm just not so sure that the snake "just" ate. Most of the apparent injuries look old, as if they have healed somewhat.

You would think, given the age of the report, that they would know by now, that the leg doesn't belong to the snake. I mean, anyone who knows anything about snakes can see that the leg is in the wrong place to be a vestigial limb. Looks bizarre though!

I fell for it, myself. My mistake was to assume that whoever originally reported it, had made sure that it was a part of the snake.

Hey that reminds me. I once fed one of my Ca kings, a live (and quite large) Southern Alligator lizard. I guess it was a bit too large or the king didn't do a good job of killing it first. It came back up about 18 hours later.

The shocking part is that the lizard was still alive and once he caught his breath, he scurried off. I was shocked. Oh, and relating to the report, I know of a two headed ca king the survived many years at the San Diego zoo. Matter of fact, my brother is the person who caught it and sold it to the zoo.

I can understand the reaction though. The woman was shocked and terrified and just reacted, I'm sure. She did think enough after it was dead, to put it in alcohol to preserve it.
