    Lucky then and now

Time passes so quickly. Found this photo the other day of my daughter Gabby and her little lucky. They were watching TV.
Thought I'd also throw in a few I took this morning. Both my girl(Gabby&Lucky) are growing up. Lucky is an absolute pleasure to have around(except when she escapes and I worry myself to death) She truely seems to enjoy the time she spends with us. The current photos were taken in the backyard. Lucky never moved more than a few feet from us. She had all the opportunities to do that but didn't. She kept coming back to us and hanging around. I hope you enjoy these photos. I am a blessed man.

The first photo is from Oct. 2007

Our girl Lucky is in blue phase and gets a lot of extra attention from her girl Gabby. Until she sheds she'll get a warm bath everyday. After the bath she sit in the drying towel, until she's taken out. This has been a routine for a long time around the Ranch. Gabby will keep a close eye on her and probably assist in her shed. Lucky has this family in the palm of her hand(metaphorically speaking). This is her 3rd shed of the year. Last year she shed 8 times and grew in leaps and bounds. She's growing into a fine young radix.

    Steve,

That's one awesome kid & snake you've got there. I'm so glad there are people like you to pass this down to their children. My Mom was like that. We could bring her anything. I remember as a child, digging salamanders out of our window wells (They were the king spotted, so not too shabby) placing it in a coffee can; running thru the house and waking my mother up from a nap (she probably was trying to get rid of a migraine) and shoving the coffee can under her nose (now that I think about it, probably not such a good idea) and asking (very excitedly) "What's that?" Followed by "Can I keep it?" When my mother would always say "yes".

    I really miss that...

My oldest daughter Emmy(age14) cares for the runts, sick and injured that come into our lives.
My only son Kale(age12), Is the bird keeper of the house. He also takes good care of the snapping turtles and the tegu.
My middle child Molly(age 11) cares for our red-eared sliders(turtles) She's not much for the snakes unless it's the babies(always got a load of those)
My Gabby(age8) loves all animals and is very over protective of her radix Lucky.
Then there's Hailee(age7), always playing catch-up since she's the youngest. She's a radix wrangler. When she was 5 she yelled at me while I was mowing the grass. I looked over and she had 2 big female radixes by the tail. They weren't happy and she didn't care.
It's a zoo around here. Just like my childhood. My mother was like yours. God bless our mothers.

It was worth the wait. Introducing the new and improved LUCKY. She waited to shed until Gabby came home.
