If you're implying that you think it might be a Garter, I'm not sure. It could be a Black Rat Snake, although I'm a bit tired now, and my vision might be fooling me, haha!

A few years ago, on a hike somewhere in the CA coastal range (maybe it was Mt. Tam, maybe Muir Woods...) I saw a smallish snake just off the trail in the process of swallowing a banana slug. I didn't have a camera with me, and I really regret that because it was awfully cool. And because I've got no idea what kind of snake it was - dark, solid brownish, no markings that I can remember.

    Sharp-tailed snake (Contia tenuis)?

Banana Slugs are about 100 times bigger than Sharp-tailed snakes Not really, but they're huge compared to a sharp tailed. Rubber Boa? Sierra Garter? There are probably a dozen other possibilities that I'm not as familiar with.

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

on my other thread , my video thread, the snake in my 2 videos, before i caught her my neighbor said he was walking outside when he heard screaming and chirping and he went to go see what it was and he said he saw the snake up in a lilac bush with a baby robin in its mouth, and he said the mother was constantly fluttering around it and pecking her, but she ignored it and ate the baby anyways, and when i caught her she had a huuuge lump in her belly, and her poop had small featherlike fibers in it and what looked like a piece of beak....that would have been sweet to see
