    not brumating at all would be easier.

    Yes, it works for Checkereds. I guess because their natural home range is warmer than that of many other Garters.
    I've bred Checkereds numerous times without brumation. Incidentally, this species frequently breeds more than once a year.

    i hav heard frm a local breeder the only way to no breed checkers is to keep them seperate. appaerently they take no stimulus and if housed together often breed 1-2 times a year?

    wow... something must be wrong with my pair!!! haha, I even brumated them this year and all I got from Marcy were jellybeans. My male shows no interest. I do have a female from Rhea due to drop any day though!!!

    When I had adult albino checkereds though... the male never, ever stopped trying!!!

    Yes, that's what I have always found with marcianus. I've had three litters in a year a few times.
