Thanks.... I will try that. I have a couple of worms in bowl for them... See if they get interested a bit later on in the night.... Night time is normally when they like to eat....Spoiled them? Very possibly..... If not that, then they just have me well trained

it's a myth that all garters will like worms
I've got several garters who don't care much for worm
a couple will go hide
my concinnus female actually tried one because the pallidulus female she houses with goes nuts over worms; once was enough though; now when sees a worm, she goes slithering backwards
and frankly - I don't think worms are nutritionally essential

Your right, I should have clarified my experience with this feeding stradegy. It is with radixes only. Worms are the main food source in this area.

Yeah... i am going to give it one more go around this evening...... I want to give them a varied diet like they would have more of in the wild. If they don't do the worms then I guess that I will stick to pinkies and goldfish as a treat every now and then..
Oh yeah,... I keep hearing about radix's and all kinds of other types fo garters, but I rarely hear of another person that has checkereds... that is what I have and if someone else has experience with what their checkereds like that would be appreciated.

Ok... Hudina just did a full shed.... She is near impossible to measure by myself, since she does not like staying still..... So I measured her shed...... This is her first spring and her shed is already measiuring at 23 inches long..... so guess maybe an inch shorter since the shed streches (im sure) and that would put her at about 22 inches long.... She is getting so big!

Ok every one...... I just got a new snake.... I kow it is not a garter but he/she was so cute in the tank and it was the only one out of the five that was cruising that I just had to get it........




My only issue is that Petco does not sex their snakes.... Does anyone have a clue on how to sex a Baby Ball Python..... Without probing (for one I have no idea how to do that and two It looks very traumatic for the snake.)

Ok... so since I do not know the sex of my baby ball python,... i have decided to call it "Little One" seems to be pretty gender nuetral...

Well I just wanted to share this... My little niece who is only a year and a half old, caught her first garter snake this last weekend.... She lives back in Montana......

AWWWWW X 10 omg first that last pic is soooo cute and second so it that snake!!!!! omg awesome!!!!!!! and he's quite plump for a petco snake too!!!!! SWEET!!!!! awww love it!!!! can't wait to see more!
