    Looking To Photograph Garter Snakes

I recently moved to Edmonton from Newfoundland (which has no native population of snakes...of any sort) and am very interested in photographing and studying garter snakes here. I do not intend to capture any or disturb their dens in any way. I don't need exact locations of the dens either...just a general idea of where to start. I love this city and spend most of my leisure time exploring it. The variety of wildlife here is quite astonishing. If you can help in any way, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Check with the locals in your area.
They will probably be able to tell you some hot spots.
