Spring in Germany: No Garters, but ....

    Moinsen!

Today I used to use an hour for an excursation in the north/west of Hamburg.

It is a very good thamnophis habitat .... but in Germany I had no chance to find garter snakes. And for shure ... I'm glad, because if I would finde some, they would be dropped out by stupid people!

Here are some photos, of what I found:

    Vipera berus

    Lacerta spec.

    Natrix natrix natrix

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

    Moinsen!

    Thanks!

@adamenteus: Yes ... I like this picture, too! But you know. You go outside, you can take 100 photos. 80 of them can be deleted! 15 photos are "okay" and only 5 are really good .... thanks for the man who invented the digital photography !

@ssssnakeluvr: Do you know that it is prohibited by law to catch any reptiles or amphibies in Germany. The are all strictly protected by law ("Bundesartenschutzgesetz").
For that, I had seen 12 Natrix natrix natrix in 1 hour! All of them very active an looking for a partner! That was very interesting to see, but very bad to take pictures ...

I hope I will have the time to go outside again the next weeks.
