They grow to about 50-100cm, females grow larger than males. The males mature at three and females at around five years of age in the wild. Garters seem to grow 2-3 times as fast.

They do grow slow. I guess that is part of the reason why I thought they were bigger....I was expecting them to grow like garters. I'm sure they are worth the wait. They are great looking animals.
