    So sorry to hear the bad news, Esther. Please don't be so hard on yourself, all of us lose one sooner or later, and yes, sometimes it because we overlook some detail. Very sad but true. We must learn from it and move forward.

    you seem to think just the way I do. I feel this way about all of my animals not only snakes. When My snake was caught out of its tank by my cat I was BESIDE myself. I made myself literally Ill over it. Im sorry for your loss. Best wishes!

    just to translate it from German:
    keep your head high and don´t worry to much.
    You´re still young enough for learning a long time,
    but it seems to me that you´re doing your best yet.
    You can only avoid all mistakes by doing nothing
    Although I´m sorry for your loss, there´s no harder way to lose an animal as if it seems to be your fault
