Hey gang! A local nature organization has been hosting talks with biologists and zoologists every two weeks. Many of these talks have revolved around Manitoba's herpetofauna. On January 21'st, the wonderful Dr. Randall Mooi will be talking about his discoveries on the northern isles of Lake Winnipeg. The most notable of these discoveries was a population of erythristic and melanistic gartersnakes found well within the range of T. s. parietalis. I had posted about this last year and the topic created quite the stir on the forum. There is also a Copeia article on the topic that could probably found with some more searching.

I for one will have many questions to ask and I assume that some of you would also have questions. If you do, feel free to put them down, and I will be happy to get them answered! This is such an awesome opportunity; I cant wait to learn a little bit more about this wonderful group of snakes.
