Wild T. radix Ranch Snakes

For the first time on the Ranch I caught a wild radix in March.
I walked out the front door and found this adult male orange phase T.radix (Plains Garter Snake) at my feet.
I took these photos and released him. Then realized I didn't even give him a drink of water and that was after he was nice enough to musk me.
I had the screen door open and heard him up by the house in the leaves so I remedied that mistake.
He took a nice drink of water and was sent on his way.

I wasn't expecting an update on this thread for another month or so. Good to know you didn't forget your manners, really not offering the little fella a drink straight away?
