I just found out some pretty scary news from a local pet shop owner...It is now ILLEGAL to keep or collect any native snake species in Ontario!This of course includes Garters!!!A man was recently given the option of a $50 000 fine OR three years in jail!You may how ever obtain a permit from the Government which took the shop keeper a couple of years to get!So all you Ontario res. with garters...HIDE!!!
