I have a male red phase radix that is on loan to me for the breeding season. While he was in with one of my ladies I went over to that enclosure holding another female(Boomerang) I wanted him to breed with. I opened that enclosure up more as a joke. You know, introducing the prospective couple. To my surprise the male came out of the hide and climbed into my arms and started chin rubbing the female I was holding. He seemed unaware I was even there. His eyes were fixed on the female. His pupils constricted the same way they do when they are about to strike a food item.
I guess she's ready to do some mating.
They are a good match since they are both red phase and from the same area. I hope they produce some brightly colored little scrubs.
