    Hey all,

    Heard about this post and thought I may be able to shed some light. I took pics of the female and 2 males I've bred to her the past 4 years (forgive the quality, my photography skills have much to be desired as you can see lol). These were all acquired directly from Mark Malfatti, who worked w/ the best lineage of similis (IMO). Unfortunately I don't have any pure Florida easterns, if I did I could do a side by side shot and the difference is easily discernable. The similis are more sold colored (w/ no checkering) and the blue color does vary quite a bit, even within the same broods. Florida easterns typically have varied checkered patterns and their colors vary as well. Some are lime green, green, and some are moderate to high blue (sometimes bluer than similis). I had a neon blue Florida eastern about 10 years ago that was absolultey gorgeous.
