    not to sound rude but those look like rosey red feeder fish, arent they suposed to be as bad as goldfish?

    Nice call, They do look like rosies, and yes they contain thiaminase, and yes they are bad for snake food.

    Guppies or Tilapia / salmon fillet cut into strips is much better for your snake.

    I was told they were guppies, which the snake had been eating at the store. I'll have to douple check and amke sure from now on, about what fish we're actually getting.

    Aso is there any opinions on if Simon is a he or if he should be remnamed Simone?

    As far as sexing, can you post a clear photo of the last 1/3 of the snake? The tail end is the best way to sex.

    Another common feeder sold at pet stores is Comets, comets are bad, they are just another type of goldfish.

    I'll dig out the safe/not safe feeder fish article and post a link.
