    Re: Possible New Ones!

    Well! I got them!!
And with several unexpected ones too. I was also given two yearling checkereds and 2 Western Ribbon babies!! The two ribbons are MASSIVE MONSTERS... I had NOO idea ribbons got this big. The western (what I am pretty sure the orange stripe is) is MASSIVE. There is super sad news to share though...... And I am a bit pissed off. I'll share later. Just hope and pray that the big ribbon will be ok and so will her possible babies...

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

    Re: Possible New Ones!

Ok, just a sec guys! I am emailing the lady who delivered them to me, then I will post here. Sorry for the wait. I was SUPER tired when I got home and had to deal with setting them all up and then I came out later and it was like, 2 am or something.

    Re: Possible New Ones!

Ok... Here is what happened. It may be long. lol!

I have figured that the yellow stripe is orarius and the orange stripe proximus.

So the guy who gave these to me caught them where he is from. He had no plans to let them go so I said I would take them. He lives really far away but he was going to be in San Antonio for two days while I was out of town, so I had him drop them off with a friend in Austin he was meeting up with anyway.

This is where I got pissed off. So before I pick them up, my friend tells me she is also giving me 2 newborn baby ribbons out of the big orange girl (they thought the yellow stripe was a male, and the orange stripe the only female, so they assumed the orange girl had the babies). She says that when the guy drove them to her they where both stuffed in a snake bag and when she opened it the bag was all bloody and she had had a dozen babies. All but two where crushed and suffocated. Grr......
Another example of the total disgregard for gravid females...

Now when we meet at a truck stop we pull them out of a bag they where in and I pull out the orange one (the one who supposedly had the babies) and she still seems REALLY gravid. So I am freaking out that she isn't done having her babies. AH! What am I gonna do.

So I get home. Settle them all in nice, clean cages. And set to work trying to figure out the species and what is up with all this gravid stuff.

I at first thought the babies looked like westerns and went to sleep hoping that the mom was gonna be ok. Expecting a bunch of stillborns in the morning.

I wake up. No babies... So I get to thinking. And wait?? I get a closer look at the babies. Compare the old pics of the yellow stripe gulf coast to the current state of her. Turns out the babies are gulf coast. Out of the yellow stripe assumed "male" who is now less back end heavy (I wouldn't say "thin" these girls are HUGE).

    So, the conclusion is that:
    1. The babies are Gulf Coast
    2. The yellow stripe had them and is done having babies
    3. The orange stripe western is very gravid which is why I thought she "wasn't done" when in fact, she never started. lol!
    4. I am PISSED off!!!

Anyways. At least I got to the babies, the poor mom and the heavily gravid MASSIVE (bigger then an adult corn snake) western girl... Before her babies wher hurt or killed as well.

This to me is another example of not taking gravid females lightly if you don't know what you are doing. Just sad and a total waste.

The two surviving babies are healthy and spunky and eating!!

And of course I also have those two checkereds out of the hacked mom... They are healthy and eating as well!

The four "Miracle babies". I will never sell them and cherish these sweet things forever.

Sorry if that wasn't as "interesting" as I may have made it seem to be. lol!

So pray for tons of live healthy babies out of the western!!

well at least all the babies weren't dead but better care could have been taken into consideration

now just make sure you spoil them
