    T.s.concinnus care?

I need some help with setting up heating. I've got Rubbermaid's with aspen bedding and everything setup. What I need is more detailed help on heating and what are ideal basking and cool side temps for this type of garter?

Any info or experience will help
    Thanks
    Jeremy

I'll let others answer your questions. But I wanted to comment that you should make sure you it in a seperate container because the way my concinnus girl eats, she would definantly swallow some of the aspen.

oh ya i forgot to put cooler for night
duh me i always turn my main lamp down at night when i wake up in the morning its around 72 on the warm side then i crank it up and they all come out to bask in the light by mid day the temp is around 85-86 and i have to turn it down about halfway b4 it gets warmer because the sun warms my apartment up a good amount during the day but i always maintain the warm side at the 85-86 they seem to like it because they are always basking

I hate Aspen!!! It's a killer!!! Definately feed in a seperate enclosure!!!

Others have already advised as to temperature gradient etc. Also the enthusiastic feeding of concinnus has been mentioned, I would agree with this... my concinnus are very excitable at feeding time and will swallow just about anything, so take care with the substrate. Apart from that (as Don said) you keep them just as you would any Garter Snake. Nice species choice, by the way.

Yeah, it amazes me just how QUICKLY they smell it. I can actually be on one side of the room. Kate (my concinnus) won't be watching. I run over, open the cage and literally throw the food item in and she will jump up and catch it in her mouth. lol! Fun stuff!
