    Re: Where to put moss?

Just curious, can reindeer moss be used for the snakies? I have some on hand for use in taxidermy habitat displays. The moss never dries out, it always stays spongy.

Make sure it hasn't been treated chemically.

Reindeer moss is actually a lichen. It probably wont absorb very much water. Regardless, left untreated it should be safe in an enclosure. You're a taxidermist? Thats pretty neat!

Never dries out, always stays spongy? Reindeer lichen dries up and crumbles easily when it does. I used it a lot in dioramas back when I built miniature models. Where did you get it? Are you sure it hasn't been treated with something?
