People only see what they believe is possible. What they expect to see and therefore it's all they are looking for. If they see something other than that with their own eyes, they don't believe it. They can't believe it. Must protect the superego at all costs. The superego must be correct at all times. Must have validity of self. Otherwise, nothing else "computes" the concious mind "computer" crashes, and one becomes insane. It's just one of the hazards of a self-aware mind.
