Well since we're talking lilac I thought I'd throw this in. My backyard today. Smells great!

I could cut just a cluster like the lower picture shows, and put it in a vase in my living room or bathroom and it will exude fragrance throughout the room for days. The bloom season is short though. 3-4 weeks in late spring. By June my lillies bloom and those are very powerful. One or two cut blossoms in a bowl of water will exude a very sweet smell that travels long distance through the house, for up to a week. Beats the heck out of "Glade" any day.

I love lilacs. We had to cut down our tree because it was more than half dead. Maybe I'll plant another...

You know, it's funny. We only have purple ones here but in Reno/Sparks area, the whole landscape comes to life with lilac blooms in 4 or 5 different colors every spring.

The whole yard is amazing right now, the apple trees are blossomed, The lilacs are full bloom, the crab apple is full of flowers and my pine trees are all making baby pine cones.

Mine too. The barn is crushed, woods is flattened, Bobcats just left, the whole yard is literally a mud-pit... BEAUTIFUL DAY!
