    Lightbulb Traps???

A lady I work for has a few "snakes with a yellow stripe" in her pond that freak her out and she wants removed. They seem to disapear when I show up but I was wondering if you Garter people have any trapping ideas.

    Thanks!

    Re: Traps???

    How about THIS.

To be honest, the only one I've caught in it so far was one I coaxed into it with my hands. But I haven't actually seen any snakes around lately, and haven't been actively hunting for them; I have a feeling it would work much better if I could find a high snake traffic area to put it.

Don't bother screening the enclosure lid. Just drill a bunch of holes around near the bottom of the trap. That way, the bait smell will be strongest near the entrance of the trap. Try to keep it in a shaded area if possible.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

Well, I have a minnow trap over there now that I've caught Nerodia in before and figure if I can get some fish in there it will work. The same funnel concept, so I'm looking for other ideas.

Very cool trap you made though. I like it!

make sure if you use a minnow trap that a small part of it is above water... they need to be able to surface to breathe! good luck!
