    bumps on skin

    Hello everyone!
I am completely new to this site and completely uneducated on reptiles and snakes, so forgive me if I ask a lot of questions.
My girlfriend and I just brought home a little baby red-sided garter a couple of weeks ago. He's about 6 inches long, eats like a piggy, and is full of life. We lovingly call him Oliver Twist.
I am just mildly concerned because a week ago I found a mite crawling on him which I was able to pick off. But now he appears to have 2-3 small bumps on his skin closer to his tail. I have since been treating him with Nature's Chemistry reptile spray. Are these just mites under his scales, or could this be a bigger problem?
I was worried he could be impacted, but I have him on aspen bedding, and he eats in a seperate cage, so I dont think that's the issue.

Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks,
    -Collin.

Dang, I'm really sorry this got lost. I never even saw it, neither did anyone else or they would have answered. It never came up in my "new posts"... Sorry!

I don't actually know.. But bumps wouldn't be impaction...

Sorry I can't be of bigger help. Or any help at all.

There are so many different things that can cause bumps on the snake can you post some pics. If it is from the mites you should be able to see black dots under the scales. How is the humidity in the cage because if they get too humid it can cause them to get blisters which look like small bumps.

    Welcome Collin,
No offense to "Nature's Chemistry" but I have used it and my mite problem continued.
The only product I have found to work is Provent-a-mite.
You won't find a lower price then their website.
    Pro-Products | Provent-a-Mite
Give your snake a warm water bath and let it crawl through a white paper towel. Mites will be transfered to the paper towel.
Treat that paper towel like it's toxic. Bag it and freeze it or get it out of your home.
This will help remove some of the mites.
Mites are a serious issue and must be approached in an aggressive way.
It not they will continue to come back and cause problems
For small snakes that can be death.
You must treat the snake and the enclosure.
Here's a like to the care sheet which is a great place to get some of your questions answered. Feel free to post any other questions to the forum.
We would love to see a photo of your snake, once you get settled in.
