    Buying mice..

    I just received a package.

    I opened it....

Inside there was a styrofoam container....

Inside that was my 250 mice that I ordered.

They were still frozen, completely.. It was like I opened a freezer.

And after 2 days of shipping! Wow!

    Anyway....

    They have very good prices.

I would recommend them if you live in the west side of the US, I don't know about other places. You can still check them out though...!

Their company is in California.. (It says CA.... I think that's the abbreviation.)

    I'm in Washington.

It only took 2 days to get to my house..

If you think about the distance and processing the order and stuff like that, it's pretty fast.

It cost me about 75$ for 250 large mice.

They're not as big as I thought, but still a decent size.

    That 75$ included the shipping.

Again, good prices and fast shipping. I recommend it if you are close enough.

I would like to thank Steve as he showed me the website.

In fact, I was going to use a different site... It was going to cost me 130$ for shipping and 300 mice. The mice were smaller and the 50 extra makes no difference because they are smaller and cost more.

Snake Food, Reptile Food, Feed Carnivores, Birds of Prey : Layne Labs.com

    Check them out sometime.

    Very good prices.....

    Okay.. I'm done.

Again: Good website, and thanks Steve!

Thanks for posting this. I wasn't sure if I should buy from them, but now I'm pretty sure it's worth it. Seems pretty cheap.

That is a really good price! They may replace RodentPro for my next order

    Re: Buying mice..

my problem is that even if I buy 25 frozen pinkies it would cost me $50 still. Thats including shipping. When they cost $11 with out shipping them. I need to find a place that would do that that is a lot closer with costing me an arm and leg. Im in Michigan if anyone knows anywhere thats either in MI or that is a lot closer to me.
I wanted to Thank you Steve for your help with the heating pad.

For smaller quantities I've had the best luck checking craigslist. I've found mice from a couple of different reliable sources that way.

For larger quantities I did the math for Layne Labs yesterday and with shipping & tax, 250 pinkies come out to roughly 30 cents a piece and 500 would drop the price per mouse to 25 cents a piece. The cheapest I can get locally is 25 cents and she won't freeze them for me, so I have to pick up a handful at a time & freeze them myself. The gas & inconvenience of multiple trips to her house, plus the possible added safety of using commercially produced mice, makes Layne Labs rather attractive. Besides, it's kind of nice just having a big 'ole bag of mice in the freezer and knowing you're not going to run out any time soon

For what it's worth, I go through about 12 large pinkies or 7 fuzzies per feeding day here. Not as many as some, but my big girl Ella can pound pinkies when she's in the mood

You should try mice direct. They are out of Georgia.
