Arizona Herping

I will be heading to Arizona on a mission trip with my church in 12 days. While there I will be doing some field herping. Anything particular I should be watching for while I am herping? I was hoping some of you westerners might clue me in. I will be in the eastern Arizona area, Show Low to be exact.

It's OK. If it rattles, just grab the rattle then it won't make any noise.

No, don't do that, but seriously, maybe you can find some blackneck or checkered garters at some of the lakes around there.

I've had no such luck in AZ but I probably wasn't looking in the right places. Plenty of rattlers, gopher snakes, and king snakes though, that's for sure.
