Herping today

Took my kids herping today. I usually take them through the trails not far from my house and find snakes basking here and there. But today we were pressed for time so we cheated and went to a couple of plywood boards on the edge of a local golf coarse that I knew of. First board we flipped had a nice sized eastern milk snake under it. The second had 7 adult garters under it. 5 gravid eastern females 1 eastern male and 1 gravid short head. My kids could not believe we found so many in one shot. I don't know if I will be able to keep them from flipping boards now lol.

We did not keep any from this trip. We have a a ton of mouths to feed right now lol

I think my record was 3 rubber boas, two yellow bellied racers, about 3 dozen northwestern garters, and a couple of alligator lizards. All under one 6 X 12 ft. piece of plywood.
