Silv Update

It has been awhile since I posted here! Life has been crazy busy... work is hectic and I must be nuts because I have gotten two new pets since Silv - first I found the sweetest little dwarf hamster at the pet store down the street and decided she deserved a better life than whatever else might happen to her there. Then... we got a puppy. Oh my gosh, it is like having a baby! She seriously sucks up all of my time. But she is a very sweet dog!

Silv is still with us and doing.. about the same. I learned a couple of months ago that he was not drinking on his own (I learned this when I left him for a week and he was totally dehydrated when I got back... oops). I don't think he was able to find his water, haha. So now he has a water bowl that sets down into the substrate instead of on top, and he is drinking all by himself, yay! He still will not eat and we are still tube feeding. He also is about the same size, not really growing at all. However his last shed he did perfectly all by himself - all off in one piece, no breaks! I was very proud of him.

We have had him now for 7 months (I can't even believe it has been that long) so I assume by now he is almost about a year old. He is still as sweet as ever never bites or musks or anything, and enjoys being held. He is a cute little baby... even if he is blind and a bit mentally challenged, heh. It's not his fault he has brain damage, right?

We'll try again on the eating on his own sometime later this month, but the tube feeding has gotten really easy so at least that is not much of a hassle anymore... all in all I am just glad he is still here and that we get to enjoy such a sweet little snake!

Nice to see you back on the forum.
It's also nice to hear that Silv is still with you. No weight gain is better than a loss.
Shedding on his own is a good thing.
