    S. Alberta Red-Sided

Managed to spend a few minutes at lunchtime near a local hibernaculum in a park. They have the den areas protected & fenced off from human traffic but the inhabitants are of course tend to disperse as the season goes along. Got a couple of shots of what the local parietalis population usually looks like, they tend to be darker than what is seen in the hobby:

They do some counting of the snakes here & the green mark on the back would make it one of those that has been counted previously.

    Hey Chris,

Those look exactly like the ones that used to be carried at the local Petcos, very nice !

Thanks guys. I'll hopefully get better pics as the season goes on & post 'em here.
The yellows on these are impressive in person, the bright sun kinda washed it out in the pics of this one and I'm just learning this new camera but you get the basic idea.

That would be something to see them in pet stores. I wish we could work with them here but we're stuck with non natives only as far as breeding/selling/exporting etc which is too bad as we have some really nice & different looking variations of these, plains and wanderings.
