    Smile what garter book ?

i have just finished reading one of my garter snake books, in this case it was the barrons reptile keepers guide book on garters and ribbons.
it suddenly struck me that the book i paid the least for is usually the one i am prone to pick up first' it cost me at the time less than less than £2 or $3[ just in case there is the odd yank or two reading this]lol
i own about seven garter books and i am fully aware that there is a lot of common information in them all' but repartition never bothered me
i said repartition never bothered me
i think perhaps it might be the very many fantastic photos it contains.
i can't be the only one to sit and drool at all those spectacular morphs and aberrant's surly. [dont call me Shirley]
SO to finally get to the point' do you have a favourite garter book that you enjoy going back to? why not let the rest of us know' it could be one we have missed.

    Re: what garter book ?

My friend gave me one yesterday. She goes to her town's library alot, as do I, but she donates old books that she has lying around and scavanges for those the library is getting rid of.

So last night's tale was entitled: "That Snake in the Grass" by Lilo Hess. Just a nice black and white photo enhanced collection of how snakes slither, shed, mate and other things.

Fun reading and now passed down to Erin.

    Yes it does, color ones.
    No pop-ups though
I saw a couple of them on ebay the other day.

    Amazon usually has them also.

That book is a must for enthusiasts .... I refer to mine often. I also really like Jon Coote's offering from the TRex series - GARTER SNAKES & THEIR ALLIES by Jon Coote on eBay (end time 22-Jan-11 20:15:10 GMT)

The WP Mara book is good for pictures but not the best for feeding/care advice.
Keeping - 'Florida blue' sirtalis, concinnus, infernalis, parietalis, radix, marcianus and ocellatus.
